This is what Black Light is about... Style, being bold, and being yourself... Or, myself, rather. Solange Knowels KILLED it in this French Glamour spread... Whoever her stylist was, KUDOS! Not only for the items selected, but more importantly, how comfortable and real Solange looked like she felt in the clothes. That is what fashion is supposed to do, enhance you, not stand out in front, leaving you in the background! Far too often, people get caught up in labels and price tags. More than likely, we have learned that "You can't dress trashy 'til you spend a lot of money..." - Billy Joel. Well, he was partially right. Society has taught us that the more money you shell out, the more likely you are to be accepted. But is acceptance worth your being broke? For some, yes, and there's no judgment here. But for me, I prefer to look amazing to myself and to do so on a budget!
I decided to start this blog to highlight the fact that you don't have to be rich to express yourself in fashion... My goal is to teach others how to shop like you're a millionaire on a shopgirl's budget and to keep a running journal of my amazing conquests as a habitual shopper. Also, I'll be posting some pics of me, from time to time, and show you my own style. Though I must warn you, the camera and I are not the best of friends, so I'm a bit camera shy. But I'll get over it... Maybe...
There, I said it, I'm a habitual shopper. I get a lot of flack from my co-workers who have shopped with me for spending so much time searching for deals, but I guarantee you, my efforts are worth the time (IMHO). Anyway, this concludes my first post. Not much, I know, but as time goes by, I will have a lot more to say and more interesting posts!
Trust!
